About The English Pewter Company
The English Pewter Company was established in 1977 by pewter spinner Alan Sharp and metalworker Robert Shaw to produce high quality hand-made pewter giftware at an affordable price. Based in Sheffield, (the heart of the metalwork industry in the UK), the company has gone from strength to strength and has become world famous especially for their tankards and hip flasks. They employ highly skilled craftsmen who use traditional techniques to manufacture their pewter products by hand using extremely high quality materials.
In 2011 the company featured in 2 episodes of the popular TV program 'How Its Made' for the Discovery Channel where they showcased the manufacturing process of their pewter tankards and pewter hip flasks.

Each product by The English Pewter Company is available on our website either to purchase as displayed with no personalisation, or with the option of having your own message engraved on the product. We have a number of high quality diamond tipped engraving machines, as well as laser engraving machines which produce the highest quality engraving, for which we are proud of.
We understand that because most orders are gifts for special occasions and are time-sensitive, we aim to engrave and dispatch orders as soon as possible.

Delivery Charges
We are currently offering a promotional FREE delivery rate on all UK orders. You can also choose faster delivery options for an extra charge. Delivery to outside of the UK will be charged at a higher rate. When you visit your checkout to pay for your order, you will be shown the delivery charges (if any) and you can then decide which option to take.
Delivery Options:
At checkout, you can choose from the following delivery options (UK Orders):
- FREE Delivery (Usually takes 3-5 working days from dispatch)
- Royal Mail 1st Class (Usually Takes 1-2 days from dispatch)
- Express Next Day Delivery (Next Day if ordered before 12 noon - otherwise guaranteed for the day after, Mon-Fri). We either use Royal Mail Special delivery, or UPS depending on weight. Please note: Express Next Day delivery may not be available during busy periods.
International Delivery (Orders outside the UK):
- International Tracked and Signed. (Sent by Royal Mail or an equivalent courier depending on weight)

Non-Personalised Items
Orders are normally shipped within 24 hours, Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm. Although most orders are received by customers within 2-3 days, we ask customers to allow up to 14 working days for delivery in line with Royal Mail policy, (although it's very unlikely it would ever take this long).
Personalised Items
Engraved orders are normally shipped within 24 hours, Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm.
Express Delivery (Next Working Day) or 1st Class Options
If you choose an express delivery option (Special Delivery), then we will engrave/personalise and dispatch the item the same day (Monday to Friday) provided the order is received before 12pm (noon) - although it is still possible to receive the item the next day if the order is placed after 12pm.. If you choose 1st class postage, we will also aim to dispatch the order within 24 hours, even if it is engraved.
Please note that Free Delivery and 1st class delivery are not guaranteed services and we cannot be held responsible for delays caused by Royal Mail, or by an incorrect delivery address. Special Delivery is a guaranteed service whereby Royal Mail guarantee delivery within a set timescale, provided that the delivery address is full and correct and that someone is at the address to sign for the package.
